QuickTime Player

QuickTime is Apple's own proprietory video format and QuickTime player is the official player for it.
As you would expect from an Apple product, Quicktime is extremely slick to use to the point of sometimes "hiding" features that you would expect to be more readily available - such as creating playlists for example. When it comes to performing basic functions such as playback, it's very easy to use although launching it is still a little slow. If you want to really get the most out of QuickTime however, you need to upgrade to the Pro version which allows you to do much more such as edit and convert video files.
QuickTime is designed to play Apple's MOV video format although but beyond this on Windows, it isn't very flexible. There are other players such as VLC media player which play almost any format and are much quicker to launch.

ManyCam Webcam software

One way to spice-up web chats is to add special effects to your webcam chats. ManyCam does exactly that offering you a range of special effects and backgrounds to make your video chats more fun.
Special effects are categorized such by type ranging from wigs, sunglasses, hats, distortions, animals etc. The effects are not always well placed or positioned however and a watermark saying "manycam.com" appears permanently at the bottom of the screen.
You can also add things such as flags (although not many), the time and date or a text of your choice. The most fun part is changing the backgrounds however which range from a beach, pool or mountain to classic black or white and sepia. The effects don't exactly look realistic, but it's fun all the same.
If you get bored with the default effects included in ManyCam, there are plenty of others available on the developer site for free.
If you're just looking for a good laugh or a bit of online video fun, ManyCam is simple and easy to use

Periodic table software

The periodic table is a tabular arrangement of the chemical elements, organized on the basis of their atomic numbers, electron configurations, and recurring chemical properties. Elements are presented in order of increasing atomic number (the number of protons in the nucleus). The standard form of the table consists of a grid of elements laid out in 18 columns and 7 rows, with a double row of elements below that. The table can also be deconstructed into four rectangular blocks: the s-blockto the left, the p-block to the right, the d-block in the middle, and the f-block below that.
The rows of the table are called periods; the columns are called groups, with some of these having names such as halogensor noble gases. Since, by definition, a periodic table incorporates recurring trends, any such table can be used to derive relationships between the properties of the elements and predict the properties of new, yet to be discovered or synthesized, elements. As a result, a periodic table—whether in the standard form or some other variant—provides a useful framework for analyzing chemical behavior, and such tables are widely used in chemistry and other sciences.
Although precursors exist, Dmitri Mendeleev is generally credited with the publication, in 1869, of the first widely recognized periodic table. He developed his table to illustrate periodic trends in the properties of the then-known elements. Mendeleev also predicted some properties of then-unknown elements that would be expected to fill gaps in this table. Most of his predictions were proved correct when the elements in question were subsequently discovered. Mendeleev's periodic table has since been expanded and refined with the discovery or synthesis of further new elements and the development of new theoretical models to explain chemical behavior.
